Medical Oncology

Deborah is a specialist trainee in Medical Oncology at Guy’s and St Thomas’ Hospital. In 2013 she was awarded an MRC/Prostate Cancer UK Clinical Research Fellowship for her PhD project under supervision of Prof Adrian Hayday in the Department of Immunobiology (King’s College London). She is interested in the function of the immune system and in particular the function of unconventional gd T lymphocytes and the role of Lymphoid Stress-Surveillance in their activation. She collaborates with Mieke van Hemelrijck on an immune monitoring project investigating the role of Lymphoid Stress-Surveillance in prostate cancer stage and response to anti-cancer treatment.
