Jennifer Rider Recognized as Prostate Cancer Foundation Young Investigator
April 18, 2013

Each year at this time, the Prostate Cancer Foundation (PCF), as part
of its Human Capital Initiative, announces its new class of Young Investigators.
Jennifer Rider, Instructor in the Department of Epidemiology at HSPH and the
Channing Division of Network Medicine at Brigham and Women’s Hospital, joins
this cohort of gifted researchers under the mentorship of Dr. Lorelei Mucci and
co-mentor Dr. Myles Brown. Her proposed research will delve into the immunomodulatory and androgen-associated actions of Vitamin D in prostate cancer.
Three years of funding accompanies
this recognition. Consistent with the foundation's goal to end death and
suffering from prostate cancer, PCF created the Young Investigator Awards
program to identify and support the next generation of leaders who will ensure
the vitality of the field with translational research focused on improving
patient outcomes. With the addition of this new class, there are now over one
hundred Young Investigators spanning across six countries and 42 research
institutes, working to make prostate cancer patients’ futures much more
promising.
